Jesus said the truth shall set you free. To the lost and marginalised the words of Jesus were comforting but to many Jewish leaders His words were disturbing. Truth can be heart breaking or it can become soothing/ consoling to our heart. Eternal life through Jesus is the greatest and hopeful truth ever told to world. what we do when hard truth is told to us. How do we respond to the truths that would ask us to change the pattern of our comfortable life style?
John the Baptist came as predecessor to Jesus to prepare the way for Jesus. He wore garment of camel hair and his food was locusts and wild honey. But he wasn’t known for his attire but he attracted people because of the message he preached. He boldly preached the message that God gave to him. Though he has used some tough words , those tough words truly transformed many.
When Paul wrote the first letter Corinthians asking them to correct certain practices in church, that had caused some sorrow among people; but Paul says he is happy now because that sorrows/ pain have produced repentance in the people. So when God’s word exposes our hearts we must not rebel rather surrender ourselves and repent, then as Jesus that truth will set us free to experience eternal life.
Now we must understand truth must be told and obeyed doesn’t matter how hard/heart breaking it is. For the truth might hurt us for sometime but that is for our good. Now we followers of Christ should be ready to accept the truth even when it hurts.
The world around us comfortably believing the lies and they least bother about those lies because everything is okay if that brings them temporary pleasure and happiness. The world is serving sugar coated lies and devil has blinded he eyes of the people from recognising it. We must continue to bring our heart to God’s word to expose the lies. Don’t be afraid of the truths because
As I mentioned every truth must be told; But truth must be told in Love. We should speak up truth in order to build up not to condemn people. Jesus came from the father with full of grace and truth. Truth without grace will not build us up. Never cease to tell the truth and follow the truth.
