David says
"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters."
We are sheep under the care of the great shepherd. And our God is a faithful shepherd who leads us, teaches us, corrects us, and He also provides what His sheep need. Many times, we see provisions in terms of wealth or materialistic blessing or just earthly necessities being fulfilled. But God’s plans and provisions are much higher than that. We see our God knows us, He knows us by name and calls us by name. In John 10:9 Jesus said
"I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and out & find pastures."
The true pastures are only found in him. Jesus is the true gate and the shepherd. The provisions of God are so evident throughout the scripture. Bible says Jesus is the shepherd who laid his life to provide us the salvation for the perishing humanity. He places Mentors, teachers, spiritual people around us to teach us the truth. He provides us the spiritual food to nourish our spiritual man. He provided us a church that prays, cares for us. He provides us our daily bread, taking care of all our needs. He has provided us to bless others.
When we look at how God as a shepherd leads His people out of the bondage of Egypt, we can see the provisions of God. Beginning from delivering them from bondages to taking them to the promised land, we could see the hand of the faithful shepherd. God appointed Moses to be a leader to show them the way, teach them the truth and strengthen them in the difficult journey.
God provides us the grace we need to sustain, thrive, preserve in this journey of faith. We must continue to thank God for the provisions of God that enable us to have true fulfilment in our lives.
