Jesus the true shepherd speaks to his sheep us as he has spoken to the nations and individuals in the past. And those who heard his voice were saved themselves from the worldliness. Many were gone astray because they have ignored the voice of God, but when people listened Him through the scripture and prophets God healed the nations and delivered them from destruction.

When we look into the history of Israel, we see people in the land of Israel constantly failing in to listen God. God in his mercy and Love for the people sent prophets to their midst to teach, guide and warn them. But history says many of them didn’t hear to the voice of God came through the prophets. When Jesus the good shepherd spoke to His own people, many had rejected him. John 1:11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

We are grateful to God because we have heard him and could become his children. At the same time, we must continue to heed to our Lord’s voice. Every day we face various challenges from the world. we can only become victorious in these challenges by hearing his word every day. Hearing His word everyday is essential to our spiritual growth and to be directed to the right path. Jesus answered to devil “‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God”. Yes, Jesus overcame the devil’s temptations by the Word of God. God’s word is the Shepherd’s voice to us. We must eat that every day to thrive in our everyday walk. Did you hear his voice today?
