Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 peter 1:3-5
This verse tells us that we are born again to an imperishable, undefiled and unfading Inheritance. The inheritance which God has for you God’s word widely speaks about the greatest hope that we are called for. A hope that cannot be destroyed because this hope is not temporary in nature rather its eternal in nature. Hebrews 11:10 says this about Abraham that “For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God. Wow, Abraham has moved from one place to another and lived in tents but He looking forward for a city that has foundations whose designer and builder is God alone. Paul said “if you are been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is. When Paul pray for the believers in Ephesians that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people. Wow, Paul knows if believers’ hearts are truly opened to see things beyond the grave and their present situations then nothing can stop them from living for Christ.
Apostle Peter says that we are called for a living Hope through the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ. Our hope for the eternal life is not based on a myth but it is based on the resurrection of Jesus. In first Corinthians 15 when Paul speaks about resurrection of Jesus and the Hope, we have beyond the grave he says this “if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
What are we hoping for? Do you see things beyond this matristic world?
Our life on this earth is resemblance of what we are hoping for? If we cannot see things beyond this earth then our life here would resemble everybody around us. Jesus told his disciples not to be troubles by what they have to go through in their lives and told them that he is going to prepare a house for them. When we face uncertain situations, when we have nothing in this world to hope for, or when we don’t see any tangible signs to move forward, lets us not lose our hope in Christ because the resurrection of Christ tell me there is way out even its dead now. let's look away from the circumstances that confront us, look to Christ, look to the promises, and hold fast to them. Hope comes from the promises of God rooted in the work of Christ.
