And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, 18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.1 peter 1:17-19

1 peter 1:15 and 16 Peter have asked the people to be holy I their conduct and he continues to say why is this a serious factor. The seriousness of being Holy is important because our God is not only gracious and merciful but also just. So, our God will be impartial in judging us according to our deeds then we must conduct ourselves with fear throughout the time of our exile.

When we call God father it has various facet of meaning. He is our father, who is our creator, our guide, our provider, our shield and most importantly He our Lord and saviour.; Peter reminds us that our God is a Judge too. Because a true father judges/ evaluate the work of His children. And being a perfect father, he decides what is right or wrong. So I know he not only gracious, who has graciously given his own son to die behalf of me but he is also just. God will not show mercy when he judges the world. 2 Corinthians 5:10 Paul says For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. Another verse by Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 Paul says ach one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.” This verse is so clear about the how the judgment day is going to be. Our work must sustain the fire. The guideline for our work to be accepted by God is to build our Christian life on Jesus Christ. We must be found in him. Our works should not be done for our glory or to promote our ministry or with any other selfish motives. Our motto, goal, means everything must be Christ because that’s the only one will last forever, rest all will be destroyed. Peter reminds us that we are ransomed from the futile ways of our forefathers because bible says God wasn’t pleased with the conduct of our forefathers. Though Israelites who were redeemed from Egypt were destroyed in the desert without inheriting the promise land because of their rebellious conduct. But at the same time, our God were pleased and promised rewards for the one who conducted them selves according to the word of God.

Philippians 2:12Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Bible says fear of the Lord is the beginning of the wisdom. When we fear God then God will surely give His wisdom to lead a life that is acceptable to him and He will reward us for serving him here on this earth.
