Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:8,9
It is true that the believers in the Asia minor hasn’t seen or known Jesus the way peter known Jesus. Peter says though the people haven’t seen Jesus they love him and believe in Him also rejoice with the joy that is inexpressible and filled with the glory by envisioning the outcome of their faith that is salvation of the souls. As we have seen earlier handling the persecutions were not easy but they received an inexpressible joy from above. The word “inexpressible” or “unspeakable” tells us that it was not mere happiness but a divine Joy. They trusted the Lord and his promises that “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
How to handle life situations when there is no hope?
We need faith to face an uncertain day. I know its not always as easy as we think. When peter was asked to take his net and put in to deep waters for catch, he wasn’t convinced because previous night they have toiled but got nothing. The way peter responded initially to Jesus was understandable because Being a fisher man for a lifetime he would know the seas better than this young chap who proclaims God’s word. But breakthrough came when he was ready to Just trust the word of the Lord regardless of the situation. See sometimes in our lives, in our professions we might experience or feel the same. While We have been toiling for years but not finding breakthrough or solution that is not feasible is painful. Peter and his companions would have used all their skills in the previous night to get some fish but all efforts went in vain. And they stopped making any more attempts and was cleaning the nets as usual. That’s when Jesus asked them to Put out nets into the deep water for a catch. Though he doubted initially they casted their net at Jesus’ word. They caught more fish than what they expected And next think Jesus did was asked peter to follow him the mission filed. So as peter says the people in Asia believed in Jesus and experienced him daily though they haven’t seen him. So we could also experience the divine joy even in midst of all trying, difficult and hope less situations.
There are Few things we must do when we faced up with uncertain tomorrows.
1.Don’t trust your understanding but acknowledge God in all your ways.
2.Don’t rely in your strength because human abilities cannot handle all situation; so, you need to empowered from above
3.Don’t give up when it’s tough or seems impossible but pray and Seek for God’s guidance
4.If God directs you then he will provide
