Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you[a] of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.1 peter 3:7

Now perter is bringing an important lesson for Christian husbands; Husbands needs God’s Love to dwell with his wife in understanding way. Understanding your wife is an important factor to live with her. A Christians needs to know his wife’s moods, feelings, needs, fears, and hopes. He needs to “listen to with his hearts” and share meaningful communication with her.

Show honour to your wife because she is a weaker vessel: the meaning being a weaker vessel is not mentally, morally or spiritually but rather physically and emotionally. The husband should treat his wife like an inexpensive, beautiful, fragile vase, in which precious treasure. Peter points out that the well-being of the Christian household depends on the man recognizing the female as a coheir in Christ and living with her respectfully, even though he is the physically stronger and socially empowered male. In this way Peter delicately prohibits domestic violence in the Christian household.

Our relationship/communion with God makes our family stronger. Family that prays together stays together. So, peter exhorted the husband and wives about all these foundational truths so that they would spiritually grow together. We are different physically and functionally but we are one and we must not be separated. So, to dwell with al differences and with al challenges that we face in our life we need more prayer.
