Jesus had to go through the Samaria and when he reached the town Sycar and disciples went to buy food. Jesus waited near the Jacob’s well for water as he was tired. In sometime Samaritan women came to draw the water and Jesus spoke to her revealed many spiritual truths to her.
By the time Jesus revealed himself to the women disciples returned from town with the food, and disciples asked Jesus to eat the food But Jesus replied them "I have a food to eat that the disciples knew nothing about".
What was this food Jesus talking about?
Jesus said to “Do the will of the father is the food” that disciples didn’t know about. The fathers will for us also plain in this chapter.
-
*The will of the father is to heal the broken hearted because the Holy sprit was upon him to set the oppressed free.
-
*The will of the father is to expose the sinfulness in our heart and to lead us to the true Forgiver to cleanse us with the His son’s blood.
-
*Was to give the Gospel (The good news) to the perishing world. The world that was broken as the result of Sin.
-
*To reveal himself and His salvation purpose to the world.
-
*To give the living water that would truly quench the thirst of the world.
-
*Will of father is to invite people to the true worship.
-
*Will of the father is to give you a new life (Free from shame and guilt of your past) and enable you to take this message to many.
Salvation of a soul is the only thing that Jesus came for that is worthier than anything else in the world. The disciples of Jesus couldn’t see this. They thought the conversation with Samaritan was unnecessary or simply a wastage of time. But Jesus came not for the healthy but for the sick.
All of us face effects of the sin every day. We face it from external forces and also it also comes from within. But God’s word reminds that God is sufficient for all situations and we need to look to Jesus alone. He is the never drying fountain and His will is to see we grow in Jesus Christ.
