The birth of the John the Baptist was a miraculous one because he was born to his old aged parents. The birth of john the Baptist wasn’t accidental but God had a very clear purpose about this.

In the life of John the Baptist, we could see that He was chosen and separated for a purpose; and this pattern can be seen in many character in the bible whom God has used for God’s glory. John the Baptist was chosen vessel for the Lord, and John the Baptist was filled by the holy spirit from his mother’s womb. When God chooses; he equips. God didn’t choose us because we are qualified but he qualifies the one who is called. He prepares us for His purpose. God empowered john the Baptist for the ministry.

Then God gave clear instructions on how this child should be raised. He must be different from others. He was asked not to drink wine or strong drink. And he spends his years in wilderness. Jesus said we are in the world but we are not of the world. we are born of God and those who are born of God will not continue to sin.

As I said God would never choose us, separate us without a purpose; bible says the God chose John the Baptist to turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared. And he will bring joy and gladness and many will rejoice in his birth.

We know how all the promises God had made to Zechariah about John was fulfilled and he became the voice that went before Lord Jesus making the path straight by preparing the hearts of people for the Lord.

Dear friends you are the voice of Jesus now called to proclaim about the redeeming Love of God to the world. Paul says God has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. 2 timothy 2:21 says Those who cleanse themselves from unrighteous ways o will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
